Cats sometimes become keenly aware of surroundings, listening to birds, or looking of for catnip snatchers. Side Effects : Salavation. Health risks : Catnip works by triggereing the cats sense of smell. The essentail oils contained within the plant produce and order pleasing to the cat. Cats may chew on the plant to release more of this scent. I have yet to see any ill effects over long periods of aquaintence. Infact, my cats are more obedient to me. They come when they're called. OF NOTE: it is estimated that about 2/3's of Cats are effected by Catnip. The other 1/3 misses out.
